OPINION: HON ROTIMI MAKINDE
SOUTH-WEST GOVERNORS SHOULD BY NOW START TO PRIORITISE THEIR EXPENDITURES AND CONSIDER REGIONAL SAFETY AS TOPMOST AGENDA
I am not a prophet of doom but a mere realist.
There is no gainsaying to affirm the fact that SW region truly remained the most developed area in whatever perspective and in all ramifications and as far as this nation Nigeria is concern.

Kudos to the foresights of our forefathers and early leaders led by Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo if blessed memory, Sir Ladoke Akintola, Late Oba Adesoji Aderemi and few other great men of timber and calibre in Yoruba land and those privileged in the recent who also followed their footsteps.
Oduduwa kingdom is definitely a proud nation. However, the recent impending calamities that reared its ugly heads is calling for serious concerns. I do not need to re-echo the unfortunate and the regular untoward action of this mayhem being caused daily by all these hoodlums in the name of catle rearing,the heardsmen.
Kidnappers or what is it called that are now serious nightmares that we need to see more like an epidemic that require urgent attention with every sinew of seriousness and as quick as possible.
We certainly can not forget in hurry how like a flash of light and how one of our great living legend Chief Falae who had served this nation meritoriously was kidnapped like chicken in his farm in broad daylight. It was mere God’s intervention that safe the life of Chief Olu Falae from the gripping hands of this clever enemies in our society.
Also unnoticed in our environment as it grows daily in the recent are this thousands of foreigners now parading themselves as Hausas or okada riders in our communities. This set of people seems to have the maps of Victoria Islands,Ikoyi, Ikeja, Ojodu and Ogba areas more in their oblaganta than many of us and our people are gradually being dislodged in the bussiness of Okadas by these sets of mediocre who are trooping in daily in hundreds into Lagos,Ibadan and other places which includes Ilesha and Ile Ife in Osun State especially with the recent stoppage of age long gold minning bussiness in their various localties.

For us to think they are smarter and good in the business of mining, farming, menial jobs or helping our society is for us to be living under the illusion of ignorance of the danger ahead or the impending havocs and other shady things they do or planning ahead to do in the nearest future.
They are not just here as mere Nigerians dwelling freely as enshrined in the constitution but I doubt if they are true Nigerians we planned to live with.
Their languages and attitude are quite different and easily they become aggrieved at little provocation, I doubt if they are here for survival and ready to live in harmony. But I can bet it this set of people are simply positioning themselves for something terrible.
It is just a matter of time before ‘karakata’ go burst!.
We must therefore be careful, be cautious and be wary of how we relate with this people and to prepare ourselves for any likely eventuality.
To ignore this warning is to accept our faith and daily to go to bed with kegs of gun powder on our various roofs which to my mind and without exaggeration shall soon explode on us and we shall soon see the pains and the agonies we do not deserve in Yoruba land.
The time to act is now, we have been so enveloped and cornered in such a systematic way with secret intention of this people to tell us how mighty they are in the nearest future…
